Meet the Brokers:

Gary Lundholm, ABR, CRS, CRB

Co-founder, Principal Broker, The Real Estate Group

Gary Lundholm began his real estate career in 1987 and quickly established himself as one of the most successful REALTORS® in Hampton Roads. Lundholm has been a consistent recipient of the Hampton Roads REALTORS® “Circle of Excellence” Award, with multiple Platinum level awards during his career.

Lundholm’s career has run the gambit in the world of residential real estate, from resale and new construction to short sales, foreclosures, and REOs. He also has significant experience in the areas of land acquisition and development.

In 2003 Lundholm and business partners Joseph Auzenne and Steven Edwards co-founded The Real Estate Group, which in 4 short years became the #1 full-service real estate office in Hampton Roads. Today, The Real Estate Group enjoys multiple locations strategically positioned to serve all of Hampton Roads.

Convinced that the real estate industry was in the midst of a major paradigm shift, Lundholm and his partners set out to replace “old school” methodologies  and mindsets with innovative practices designed to create a real estate company for today’s market place: one in which both the agent and client experience the highest level of service and support. Always an agent at heart, Lundholm committed himself to providing associates with a business model that maximizes agent profit and company support by utilizing the very best in real estate technology, training, and business solutions. The company is also dedicated to community involvement and supports a number of local charities, including EDMARC Hospice for Children, the beneficiary of the firm’s annual Toys & Trees for Kids holiday event.

In addition to his mandated responsibilities as Principal Broker, Lundholm oversees the development of new systems, marketing resources, and technology platforms for the company. He also directs the firm’s business growth strategy, which includes the development and implementation of company branding programs and the recruitment and retention of the high-quality, career-minded agents that make up The Real Estate Group.

Outside of The Real Estate Group, Lundholm serves on the Board of Directors for the Real Estate Information Network (REIN). He is a 10-year Navy veteran who originates from Detroit, Michigan. He has chosen to call Hampton Roads home since 1986 and resides in Chesapeake with his wife Mary Lou, also a successful REALTOR®.

 

Steven Edwards  CRS, GRI, CDPE

Co-founder, Training Director, Broker-at-Large, The Real Estate Group

Licensed in 1984, Steven Edwards has been one of Hampton Roads’ most successful REALTORS® and has been involved in over 1100 residential transactions. In 2003 Edwards teamed with two other brokers to co-found The Real Estate Group (TREG), for which Edwards is the lead Training Broker. Edwards draws on his deep geographical knowledge of Hampton Roads and his reputation for robust client care to provide dynamic and engaging instruction for TREG associates that sets them up for success in any market.

Edwards is a Brian Buffini Certified Mentor for both 100 Days to Greatness and Peak Producers. These courses add to TREG associate knowledge in the areas of high-quality client care and the ability to effectively work the referral sphere. He has also used his practical market knowledge and extensive training experience to create multiple courses exclusive to The Real Estate Group, including:

  • TREG Business Growth System: TBGS develops and builds agent knowledge in the area of listings and seller representation.
  • The Right Price Analysis: This comprehensive system is a deep, 5-point process that exhaustively x-rays the market to ensure residential sellers are served at the highest of levels and that their return on investment is always maximized.
  • Pulse of the Market: This is an integral part of seller representation which gives TREG sellers the real-time analytics vital for making educated and up-to-date decisions about their property.
  • Where the Buyer Buys and Why: Structured analysis on trends in the listing market in real time, revealing critical data every home seller needs to make smart decisions about their real estate holdings.

Edwards also worked with fellow brokers and staff to develop an exclusive Seller Listing Presentation that is made available to all TREG associates. This copyrighted work outlines TREG’s extensive marketing solutions, which come together to create one of the most powerful marketing systems in the country for getting listings sold. Edwards continues to watch trends and observe the needs of agents so he can develop classes that keep TREG agents at the forefront of the marketplace.

 

Joe Auzenne  CRS, GRI, CDPE

Co-founder, Managing Broker – Chesapeake Office, The Real Estate Group

Joe Auzenne began his real estate career in 1993 after completing a successful career in the United States Marine Corps. Joe is originally from Los Angeles, California but has lived in and out of the Hampton Roads region since 1984.

Over the years Auzenne has earned the designations of GRI (Graduate, REALTOR® Institute); CRS (Certified Residential Specialist); and CDPE (Certified Distress Property Expert), and he has been a consistent member of the Hampton Roads REALTOR® Association Circle of Excellence.

In 2003 Auzenne joined forces with Gary Lundholm and Steven Edwards to establish The Real Estate Group. The philosophy and belief that influence the owners’ day-to-day decisions are rooted in a simple truth: “The real estate professional should be the primary beneficiary of his/her hard work” and to that end, his top priority is the training and developing of Real Estate Group professionals. He is driven to assist them in meeting their financial and personal goals through business training, mentoring, and the implementation of technology and systems.

Auzenne serves as the Managing Broker of the Chesapeake office of The Real Estate Group and also instructs classes in contract interpretation and writing; agent sales development; and agent marketing systems and utilization. Auzenne is a qualified instructor/teacher having earned the designation of “Master Instructor” while a member of the armed forces.

 

Pam Ermen

Managing Broker – Virginia Beach Office, The Real Estate Group

Pamela Ermen has spent her entire business career in real estate, obtaining her license at 18 years old. Starting at such a young age, she quickly learned the important role industry and product knowledge played in earning credibility with clients and customers. Her intense focus on acquiring that knowledge, combined with award-winning sales production, opened doors to full-time management by the age of 24. Since then, she has spent over 20 years coaching individual agents and teams to their highest levels of productivity.

Ermen brings a unique perspective to her management career, having successfully managed in both a privately owned traditional and an internationally branded, franchised real estate company. She now shares her years of experience with the agents of The Real Estate Group (TREG) as the Supervising Broker of their Virginia Beach location. In addition to being a national speaker, trainer, and coach, Ermen is also the author and creator of two well-defined training series specific to real estate business planning and the dynamic growth of real estate teams.

Ermen has been a Senior Instructor with the Virginia REALTOR® Institute for more than 12 years and was ultimately selected as Virginia’s “Real Estate Educator of the Year”, as well as an Instructor for the National Association of REALTORS® Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) program, focused on Business Planning for the Residential REALTOR®. While her primary responsibility is the growth and success of TREG associates, Ermen is still an in-demand speaker on the national platform and travels yearly to inspire and educate REALTORS® across the United States.
